The office assistant will assist with the day -to-day operations of a small office by doing tasks such as filing, paperwork, answering phone calls, and preparing documents.
We are looking for a responsible assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools such as excel and web base programs used by the agency.
Responsibilities would include:
- Handling administrative requests and queries
- Answer and direct calls
- Write and distribute email , correspondence memos, letters and forms
- Develop and maintain a filing system
- Maintain contact lists
- Provide general support to visitors
- Liaise with Human resources to handle requests and queries from Management
Requirements and skills:
- 1 year minimum experience in office work in the same field (Social service, disability support ) is a preferred requirement
- knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Working knowledge of computers and printers. Proficient in MS Office (I.e. word and excel)
- Time management skills and effective communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- High School degree: additional qualifications as an administrative assistant or secretary will be a plus

Position Details:
- PART TIME POSITION (10-20 HOURS/WEEK)
- Days- Monday to Friday
- TIME: 130-430PM
- Salary: From $16.00 per hour- 20.00/ hr
Schedule:
- Day shift/ Noon shift
- Monday to Friday and On Call visit as needed and as preferred
- No weekends
Education
- Diploma
Experience:
- Front desk: Min 6 months experience(preferred) at a Social Services Agency
- Administrative experience: 1 year min(preferred)
- Most recent/Current employer experience and reference letter preferred
Language:
- English (Mandatory/required)
Work Location: In person at Office
